MESSAGEmanager IP Fax Server Software has been specifically designed to integrate with IP Telephony gateways to manage the latency, jitter and packet loss inherent in IP Networks that traditional T.30 fax cannot tolerate.

MESSAGEmanager supports T.38 Relay, the de facto standard for reliably transporting faxes in VoIP Networks and SIP Trunks connected to Service Provider Networks.

T.38 specifies fax images are transmitted as data rather than an audio stream. T.38 is incorporated into all popular IP Gateways and Border Contollers to manager the delays, jitter and packet loss experienced in packet networks.

G.711 Pass-Through

G.711 is an ITU-T recommendation for Pulse Code Modulation (PCM)of frequencies.

G.711 is not optimised for fax transport over IP Networks and is more sensitive to network impairments such as packet loss, clock skew and latency. As fax calls are transmitted as audio, any distortion or disruption of the tones during transit across the network negatively impacts the quality of the transmission.

As it is more susceptible to IP Network impairments, MESSAGEmanager only supports G.711 Fax Pass-Through on managed IP Networks.
