Sending Facsimiles From Oracle
You can interface MESSAGEmanager to Oracle Applications
in a number of ways
- Create an output fax file (text or postscript)
with embedded commands and store in a "pickup"
directory. Text control files can specify image files
for overlay if the application is currently using
pre-printed stationery. Requires File Pick Up API.
- Submit any type of attachment file (Word document,
text, PostScript, PCL etc.) to the Server using COM.
Requires no additional software.
- With Oracle Reports, you can generate a print file
with embedded fax commands and print to a PostScript
print queue on the FAX Server (requires Network Printer
Interface and API).
- Use the Jetform Output Pak to extend the Oracle
Reports capability and allow easy printing and distribution
to fax and email of sophisticated, high-quality documents
such as invoices, purchase orders and shipping documents.
Jetform submits faxes to MESSAGEmanager via the Postscript
Network Printer Interface or the PostScript API directory.
Using the Jetform Output Pak for Oracle Applications
means the formatting is stored in the Jetform form
and not on the report, so that only the data elements
appear there. The Jetform Output Pak contains a variety
of field tagged reports and pre-designed form templates
that work "out-of-the-box" with Oracle applications.
These forms and reports can be implemented without
making changes to the Oracle application or its existing
reports. The Jetform reports are simplified versions
of the standard Oracle reports, which are added to
those already in the system. If a new form, not in
the Output Pak, needs to be created it is done so
easily with the Output Paks Form Builder. The
Form Builder will read an existing Oracle report and
produce both a new field tagged report and a matching
Jetform Design e-form template.
